The land use land cover (LULC) of the UAE has tremendously changed in the past few decades because of economic growth and population growth. Therefore, it is essential to understand how the LULC can play a vital role in drafting strategies for urban planning, managing natural resources, and monitoring environmental changes. Such maps can make ecological monitoring easy and reliable by understanding the differences due to extreme urbanization and changing climate. Lastly, it will develop a countrywide land cover and land-use database at a high spatial resolution for monitoring a wide range of variety.
Land use land cover (LULC)
The project aims to generate temporal land use/ land cover high-resolution maps for the country and repeat this exercise in every 2 -3 years’ interval. It will provide an emirate-wise land-use report for the whole country. It aims to develop algorithms for monitoring systems that detect changes in land surface or seawater conditions like red tides and oil spills and on the inland side due to new urban developments
